Steel Shots
Bunsa is a leading high carbon steel shot (martensitic steel shot) manufaturer in Turkey Our steel shots have high abrasion resistance and long life. Because Bunsa has its own technology and R&D department. Every year we improve our technology to manufacture with lower cost and higher quality.
In every step of production our technicians apply lots of labratory control to manufacture the same quality. As a result of this approchment our shots cleans faster and consume slower.
Quality is allways stable. And our customers are allways happy. Customer satisfaction is under the guaranty of our ISO 9001 quality management system.
Our microstructure is uniform temepered martesite
There are two types of hardness grades for the shots
Normal hardness grades have 40-45 HRC. This shots are generally used for steel and iron casting. Foundries use shots for cleaning the casting surfaces. And at the same time it may be used for some steel construction surface cleaning.
Peening grades have 46-52 HRC. These types of steel shots are used for shot peening operations. They have long life and perfect almen test results Our size standarts are according to SAE J 444. Our standart sizes are S70, S110, S170, S230, S280, S330, S390, S460, S550, S660, S780, S930.
Steel shots are spherical steel abrasives that has good abrasion ability and lower consumption rates. These properties are the result of a special heat tretment process. Production prosess starts with melting in a induction furnace. After melting, chemical composition is inspected in the labratory and needed alloys added. And poured into a water jet. While pouring, metal particles are solidifying into spherical shape. After this pouring process, shots are loaded on a drying furnace. Drying conditions and temrature is very important for the microstructure. Dried shots are sent to the hardenening furnace for annealing and quenching processes. These processes are very important for hardness.
At these units all the technology is developed by Bunsa's labratories. and After these processes shots have a hardness 66-68 HRC. To reach a target hardness, shots sent to the tempering furnaces. Following processes are sieving and packaging. Packed shots are ready for despatch.
